1st stop- Malacca Zoo

I was excited to be here after many years. However, it's pricey. The entrance ticket costed RM10. Previously it was only RM7. But the zoo is clean and odorless. Not many people because it was a weekday. If you ask me whether is it worth it? I will give 6/10.

Overall, not satisfied.

The price list.

Malacca , here I come!

Few hours later, I will head to the History state, Malacca. It has been a long time never to Malacca. I will depart from Johor Bahru, probably at 8 tomorrow. So by the time, I reach there will be around 10.

Tmr will visit the Malacca Zoo, lunch eating the famous chicken rice, walk around the shops and the shopping complexes.

Stay tune and I will post pictures during the trip!

Americas, Asia will fuse to form 'Amasia'

Americas, Asia will fuse to form 'Amasia'

You won't be alive to see the way the Earth looks in 100 million years, but as the name suggests, it would "amaze ya."

Amasia is what scientists are calling the supercontinent that they predict will form as the continents we know and love drift toward one another and collide, closing the Arctic Ocean and fusing around the North Pole. Antarctica may be left out as a loner, however, as Australia snuggles up to Asia between India and Japan.

While the northern coast of North America would form a mountain range, the United States' West Coast will probably be the edge of this supercontinent, geologist Ross Mitchell said.

In a study in the journal Nature, Mitchell and colleagues at Yale University propose a new theory of how and where this supercontinent will form.

It's been established that supercontinents tend to form and break apart in cycles. There have been at least three: Nuna (1.8 billion years ago), Rodinia (1 billion years ago) and Pangea (300 million years ago).

Between 50 and 200 million years from now, the next supercontinent, Amasia, will take shape, Mitchell said. And we're well halfway into the cycle of its formation; most of Asia has been created since the rifting of the last supercontinent, Pangea, he said.

Considering trends in mammalian evolution over the past 20 million years, individual species tend to last only about 2 million years, so there probably won't be any humans living on Amasia.

"None of us will be around 100 million years from now to be able to test these supercontinent models, but it’s nonetheless interesting to think about how humanity fits in this larger tectonic dance," Mitchell said.

Why do supercontinents form?

Continents and oceans as we know them are not permanent. Instead, continents drift across the surface of the Earth, and oceans aren't stable. German geophysicist Alfred Wegener proposed this idea about a century ago, and it gained further credence in the second part of the 20th century as scientists began to study plate tectonics. Basically, underneath us, there are solid slabs of rock called plates, and they move in different directions because of convection currents.

Earthquakes result from plates rubbing against one another. The Ring of Fire, a region we know today where most earthquakes happen and volcanoes lie, marks the edge of the previous supercontinent, Pangea, and is about 90 degrees away from it. The seismic activity of the Ring of Fire will result in the formation of Amasia.

Geologists say that when Pangea broke apart, new oceans were created, and more ocean in one part of the world means there's less somewhere else. "This is why, all around the Pacific, the ocean floor is being sucked back down into the planet in a process called subduction," writes Ted Nield in the book "Supercontinent."

But exactly why supercontinents break up after they form remains a mystery, Mitchell said.

How supercontinents form

Before Mitchell's study, there have been two theories about the next supercontinent, extroversion and introversion, although they don't have much to do with its personality.

Proponents of extroversion believe the continents will drift away from a supercontinent and eventually scoot around to the opposite side of the globe, 180 degrees from where the old one was.

Introversion is a little simpler, stating that the next supercontinent would form where the last one did.

But Mitchell's group argues that Amasia will be 90 degrees away from Pangea was. The Yale researchers used as the basis of their analysis insights from minerals from ancient rocks, which reflect the Earth's magnetic field. Geologists are able to infer how a continent moves through time with respect to the North Magnetic Pole based on that.

The introversion and extroversion models provided a set of testable predictions for supercontinents of the past but could not really give estimates for the future, said Peter Cawood, chairman of Earth Sciences at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and former president of the Geological Society of Australia.

Mitchell's study is important because it provides explanations for how we get from one supercontinent to another, Cawood said in an e-mail.

"In the past we have wondered if there is 'method in the madness' of continental reconstructions and the position of continents through time. If this paper is correct the answer is yes, there is indeed a method," Cawood said. And that method is "driven by processes deep within the Earth."

Amasia will take shape at the North Pole, and then, as it matures and heats up, it will drift down toward the equator and nestle there, Mitchell said.

"Understanding the past distribution of continents, either individually or when periodically amalgamated as supercontinents, is fundamental to understanding the history of the Earth," Cawood said. "Continents are the archive of Earth history – not just of the rocks themselves but of past climate, oceans, life, etc. And the distribution of the continents has an important influence on these features."

Cawood added: "Pity that it will take hundreds of millions of years to happen and we won’t be here to see it!"

Singaporeans'salary are SGD2500 (average), Malaysian is MYR2500. Yet, they pay SDG 7 for a fantastic meal, while for us, Malaysians, we have to pay nearly RM12 for this.

Praise His Name!

When you're up against a wall
And your mountain seems so tall
And you realize life's not always fair
You can run away and hide
Let the old man decide
Or you can change your circumstances with a prayer

When everything falls apart
Praise his name
When you have a broken heart
Just raise your hands and say
Lord, you're all I need
You're everything to me
And he'll take the pain away
And when it seems youre all alone
Praise his name
When you feel you cant go on
Just Raise your hands and say
Greater is he that is within me
You can praise the hurt away
If you'll just praise his name

Ohhh, Ohhhh
You can overcome
By the blood of the lamb
And by the word of your testimony
You'll see the darkness go
As your faith begins to grow
You're not alone, so how can you be lonely????

This Church On Fire!!!!

Is This A Test Image Taken by the Samsung Galaxy S III?

Pocketnow obtained a photo which was taken by an unknown Samsung device with the model number GT-I9500.

According to Pocketnow, the photo was taken by the same individual who tested the Galaxy S II back in January prior to the phone's launch at Mobile World Congress 2011. The EXIF data of the photo also revealed the camera specifications of the GT-19500 such as an aperture of 2.65 and four-millimeter focal length.

Taking reference from the model numbers of the Samsung Galaxy S I (GT-I9000), Samsung Galaxy S II (GT-19100) and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Nexus ( GT-19250), it is likely that GT-19500 is referring to the highly anticipated Galaxy S III.

A screenshot of an internal presentation slide two months ago disclosed the alleged specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S III:

Dual-core 1.8GHz Exynos 4212 processor
2GB RAM
12MP camera
4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD display
Android 4.0
Thinner profile than the Samsung Galaxy S II
Could this be the Samsung Galaxy S III? Well, we will know the answer in two month's time at Mobile World Congress 2012.

Ex-hubby demands sex in return for RM50

Wednesday December 21, 2011

EVEN after divorcing her husband, a single mother of two is still being abused by him, Harian Metro reported.

“We were fine at first, but once our marriage became known to his first wife, he started psychologically torturing me,” Elina, 39, said.

Unable to tolerate the abuse, Elina moved house and asked for a divorce.

However, the man asked for sexual favours in return for RM50 each time.

He even sent Elina's two sons, aged one and four, out during these “sessions”.

She also claimed to be under the spell of black magic, as she was unable to deny her ex-husband.

“I am even more convinced of this as I have found various types of oil and talisman in his possession,” she said.

Elina lodged a report with the Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association recently regarding the matter.

> The daily also reported of a boy in Terengganu who has been in a coma for the past seven months due to a hit-and-run accident.

Iman Adam Raman, eight, was hit by a speeding motorcycle in May and can only open his eyes and move his head a little.

His mother Nik Ainy Mohd said he was in stage two coma.

Police told her the motorcyclist had hit her son “like a chicken” as there were no skid marks to indicate the vehicle slamming on the brakes.

Iman has two chips implanted in his head to prevent blood clotting. He is being fed milk via a tube.

Doctors had predicted Iman would live only three days after the incident because of serious head injuries.

> An 82-year-old has been donating blood regularly to keep his headaches at bay, reported Sinar Harian.

Abu Bakar Ahmad from Pasir Mas, Kelantan, said he had been donating blood since his twenties.

“My headaches last for long periods but after donating I feel relieved. The headaches are gone,” he said.

Abu Bakar donates once every three months at Hospital Lati in Pasir Mas.

He had previously tried many methods to cure his headaches but a consultation with his doctor revealed that the headaches were due to the thickness of his blood.

He was among 300 regular blood donors who were recognised recently.

It’s raining snakes in Kampung Laut

JOHOR BARU: Everytime it floods, residents in Kampung Laut in Skudai, scramble to change into their pants to avoid slithery guests from sliding up their legs.

Folks here not only have to worry about watery woes when it pours, but also have to look out for snakes.

The village, which is located along Sungai Skudai, is a common habitat for various types of snakes and monitor lizards.

Contract worker S. Kumarasami, 39, said it was common for Kampung Laut residents to see snakes such as pythons, cobras and huge monitor lizards swimming near them when they evacuated their homes due to floods.

He was one of the 60 villagers who were still taking shelter at a flood relief centre in SK Batu 10.

Kumarasami, who has been living in Kampung Laut for more than 30 years, said thankfully, there had not been any untoward incidents of residents getting bitten by the reptiles.

“We have some sort of understanding with them.

“If we do not disturb them, they will not harm us,” he said.

He added that usually when residents came across the snakes or the lizards, they would keep still and refrain from looking directly at them.

Kampung Melayu Batu 10 village chief Ismail Talib, 60, said Kampung Laut had been hit by floods three times this year.

He added that the flood waters would usually reach as high as one meter if it rained heavily.

Love

I was having my lunch in a fast food restaurant, and I was attracted by a woman with 3 children. They were having the meal too. But out of my surprised, she wasn't eating at all. Yet, she ordered it for the children. They were enjoying the meal yet she was just chatting with them (without a bite). In my heart, I felt the sacrifices and love that she poured out. Who doesn't like eating fastfood? For her loves one, she rather be hungry.

Friends, there are many people out there who will act the same too. Have we thought about these.people who are unfortunate but they are willing to sacrifice for others. Are you one of them? Since, it's Christmas time, let's share the love that God had given to us. He gave His only Son to us to be nailed on the cross for our sins. Let's share His LOVE to them surrounding us.

I LOVE YOU!
